"Kansas City" was written by the legendary songwriting team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and first recorded by Little Willie Littlefield as "K.C. Lovin" in 1952. Wilbert Harrison recorded it as "Kansas City" in 1959 and took the song all the way to #1 in April of that year. The tune had long been a Carolina Beach music favorite when Brenda Lee covered it in 1968.

Oct 20, 2010 - Hi Nocaro! Not only legendary, but Leiber & Stoller are my favorite composers/songwriters! Too bad Elvis never did that one! And when you think that Brenda was only 16 or 17 when she recorded that! Amazing!
