Books: Bio's of the great figures of our times -- John Adams, Eric Clapton, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, The Beatles, etc.

Movies: Sci-Fi films/TV series are the best. Can't get enough of those old, kitschy TV shows from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Love history and military movies, too. Shakespeare.

Music: Love pretty much everything, from Brazilian Jazz to Nigerian Folk. Specifics? Steely Dan, Yo La Tengo, Big Bad Voodoo Daddies, Mozart, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Duke Ellington, Gigolo Aunts, Miles Davis, Philly Soul, Spinners, O'Jays, Stylistics, Dusty Springfield, Mitch Ryder, Bob Seger, Iggy, MC5, Rationals, Australian/Kiwi music scene, Ramones, NY Dolls, Acid House Kings/The Legends, Finn Bros, Teenage Fanclub, The Jayhawks, Paul Kelly, Wes Montgomery, Ivy, Eagles, Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry, Eno, Patty Griffin, Merle Haggard, Doo Wop, The Action, The Strawbs, Fairport Convention, Velvets, Lou Reed, John Cale, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Run D.M.C., Dylan, Beach Boys, Mott The Hoople/Ian Hunter, The Jam/Paul Weller, Tommy Keene, Go-Go's, Bangles, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Joy Division/New Order, Replacements/ Paul Westerberg, Motown (everything!!), Girl Groups, Stax-Volt (everything!), Hank Williams, Luna/ Dean Wareham-Britta Phillips, Oasis, Tom Petty, British Invasion (everything!), The Byrds, 1st Punk Era (everything!), Blondie, Talking Heads, James, Smiths, Dion, Blue Rodeo, Belle and Sebastian, Vivaldi, Big Joe Turner, Louis Armstrong, Sinatra, 50's Classic Rock and R'n'B, John Lennon's Jukebox (lol), 60's Soul, Country, Alternative Country, Blues, World, Industrial, Electronica, Surf, Jamaican, Garage Rock, Jazz, and about, oh, 20,000 more....you name it, I like it.

Check out my MySpace page (link above) for much more info and some blogs I've written. Born and raised in Metro Detroit, so of course grew up listening to one of the greatest expressions of musical ear candy this planet has ever produced: ♥♥ ♫ Motown Music ♫ ♥♥ Detroit's also known for its high-energy rock n' roll and techno that cuts like a knife and makes you beg for more. Over the years I've accumulated over 5,000 vinyl LPs, 4,000 CDs, assorted 45 singles and cassettes, and countless mp3's on the 'puter. I've got recorded music literally from the 1920's all the way through to last week. Music has always been an integral part of my life. I know some who have never bought a single album and could care less (I pity what they're missing). To me, it's transformative. I don't think I could go a day without listening to some kind of music. Just in the past few months I've been undergoing the monumental task of transferring some of my more obscure vinyl LPs to here. Purpose being so people can at least listen to a few lost gems from the 70's and 80's that have long since ceased circulation or will never be widely issued on CD. I could transfer much more but was amazed to find many in my collection have already been done by others. As many have also experienced, I've run into the copyright Nazis on more than one occasion. I could have uploaded a ton more records but was blocked by copyright issues. Just to set the record straight I don't get a dime for the uploads I've done. Don't want or expect to. It's merely a labor of love to put these vids up and expose these artists to a wider audience. If you like some of them the hope is you'll explore further and buy their music if it's still available. To me this is like making music accessible for the biggest party on earth, since YouTube has to be the biggest jukebox ever invented. When you play records or CDs for friends at a party you don't have the copyright police burst through the door trying to shut you down, and this should be no different, at least in my eyes. One can get just a small taste of the breadth of my musical interests by the fraction of music I've uploaded. Tip of the iceberg, of course. ------------------------------------------------------ Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Law of 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Off my own vinyl. One of my favorite songs on the LP. From wiki: Fire Town was a garage-rock band formed in the mid-1980s in Madison, Wisconsin, from the remnants of an earlier popular local group, Spooner. Fire Town were signed to a major label and published two albums, In the Heart of the Heart...
